I couldn’t tell you why exactly why I took this mans portrait. I was compelled I guess. On a mission, take as many as possible. I was making up for lost time. I was running out of time. I had tried hard to make something work that was never meant to work. Like trying to fit D batteries into a TV remote.
Maybe it was the challenge. Getting the photo took convincing. I think I may of used the word ‘beautiful’, though I can’t be sure. But I remember this moment between the two of us. In Chinatown. In Seattle. A brief moment between two strangers living in completely different existences. At least it would appear that way.
